Trekking in Chile
and Argentina
Chile has some of the best trekking in the world. Torres del Paine National Park in southern Patagonia is a trekking mecca and Chile's prized gem, but the country also has 30 other National Parks, many with world-beating treks.

BlueGreen Adventures also offers trekking in the Fitzroy Sector of Los Glaciares National Park in Argentine Patagonia.
Trekking in Torres del Paine
The W Trek
The W Trek is a 75km trek, which zigzags in and out of the ribs of the Paine Massif. BlueGreen's W Trek Trips range from four to six days

Fitness and Terrain
The W Trek is moderately difficult. However, the last section of the hike to the Towers is a 'mountain goat' hop over glacial moraine, but this is a there-and-back trek so you only need go as far as you feel comfortable.

The Circuit
The Circuit Trek loops the Paine Massif via the John Gardner Pass, which flanks Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.  BlueGreen's full Circuit Trek takes eight days, while BlueGreen's Semi Circuit Trek takes six days.

Fitness and Terrain

The Circuit is more challenging than the W. Some sections of the John Gardner Pass, particularly, are steep, and slippery if it has rained. Other sections of the trek are rocky and boggy.
Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina
Los Glaciares is just across the Ice Cap from Torres del Paine, and the scenery is just as spectacular, but a little more accessible. That's because the fast-growing tourist town of El Chaltén is situated within the Park, making short treks a possibility.

BlueGreen's Perito Moreno Tour combines Trekking from El Chaltén with a trip to the Moreno Glacier.
Winter Treks in Torres del Paine and Patagonia
BlueGreen offers unique and exciting trips during the Patagonian winter including a fully supported and guided winter W Hike - the widest selection of any local operator.

Trips vary in length from one action packed Full Day in Torres del Paine to a 9-Day Patagonian Safari - they are all available on request between May and October.
Trekking in Chile's Cochamó Valley
Northern Patagonia's newest trekking destination is a beautiful river valley set among Alerce forests and massive granite domes.

BlueGreen's four-day Cochamó Trek takes in the highlights of this little-visited area.
Custom Trekking Trips
All our trekking trips can be run as private trips for a minimum of two people, but we can also tailor a trip to suit just about any requirement. In fact we pride ourselves on our ability to do this.

We are one of the few operators able to work in such a flexible way and we do not penalize private clients, other than by introducing the standard small group supplement that would be payable on a group tour.
Family Trekking in Patagonia
We recognize that active families with older children might like to hike elements of the area's longer trails but adapted to suit the needs of families. With that in mind we are able to design trips that comprise a suitable mix of challenging day or multi-day hikes combined with more gentle pursuits such as a couple of days fishing, horse riding or paddling down river in kayaks.

If this sounds like you, just email us your perfect family vacation.
