Fly Fishing
All ActivitiesWhat we offer…
We have developed two Patagonia fishing itineraries based around Punta Arenas, Puerto Natales and the Torres del Paine National Park of four and eight days. These trips combine abundant, pristine waters with an incredible natural landscape for a truly unforgettable experience.
The City of Puerto Natales is an exceptional fly fishing destination. Occupying a privileged location no more than one hour from 12 outstanding fly fishing locations including rivers, lakes, lagoons and spring creeks it is a fisherman’s dream.
Trout were initially introduced into the area’s waters at the beginning of the 20th century. The introduced fish immediately found in Patagonia an ideal area in which to reproduce. Pure and abundant waters combined with strong genetics bred a combative and wild race of trout. Perfect for keen anglers.
Today in these waterways are found mainly salmon trout (otherwise known as brown trout or browns). This species is highly prized by anglers because of its beautiful colours and ferocity.
It is also possible to find rainbow trout, salmon, chinook, cojo and some endemic species such as peladilla.
During a typical day, we will have the opportunity to apply various fishing techniques. Nymphs and streamers are very productive during the morning leaving the afternoon free for our personal favourite, the dry fly. The brown trout in our rivers are fed continuously on the surface: knowing how to fly them and catch them is our speciality.
See below for a couple of itinerary ideas. Contact us if you cannot find what you are looking for and we will help you with your planning. We can incorporate a day or two fly fishing into any of our custom itineraries in southern Patagonia.
