5 Day Antarctic Cruise
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Embarkation. Sail out towards Cape Horn
This trip starts in Ushuaia, Argentina. Check in at quayside in town between 14.00 and 16.00 hours to board the Ocean Nova boat. No admittance after 16.00 hours so please be on time and make sure and consider the necessary time to pass through Ushuaia port formalities keeping your passport on hand at all times.

After pulling out of port, we will sail out into the historic waters of the Beagle Channel towards Puerto Williams, the southernmost town in the world, located on Navarino Island. Here we will have time to tour around the area before setting sail towards the legendary Cape Horn.

Day 2: Visit Cape Horn lighthouse. Sail to Antarctica
After crossing Nassau Bay, we will wake up in front of Cape Horn. Weather permitting, we will put our Zodiac boats into the water and visit its famous lighthouse and the Chilean station in charge of keeping the light shining across these southern waters.

Back on board, we will get ready to set sail towards Antarctica and start the crossing of the famous Drake Passage, named in honour of the great explorer, Sir Francis Drake.

Heading south
Day 3: Sail Drake Passage to King George Island
Sailing out through the Drake Passage, en route to King George Island (South Shetland Islands) we invite you to attend an engaging program of lectures and presentations.

You can take the time to watch the wild life from the glass enclosed viewing lounge or from one of the outside decks. We should spot magnificent sea birds such as albatrosses and petrels as well as Humpback and Minke whales swimming to Antarctica.

Day 4: Landing in Antarctica. Penguins and wildlife
Once we have crossed the Antarctic Convergence we begin sailing through the Antarctic Ocean. The time has finally come to watch for our first icebergs sightings and glimpse the Antarctic continent itself.

The South Shetland Islands finally come into view and we will have an opportunity to put our Zodiac boats into the water and make our first landing to a penguin colony.

Exploration can continue long into continue afternoon and evening thanks to the endless Antarctic daylight.

Day 5: King George Island. Fly to Punta Arenas
Upon reaching King George Island, we will disembark at Fildes Bay where we will have a chance to enjoy the Antarctic scenery and explore some interesting places in the area such as the Chilean base Frei and the Russian base Bellingshausen.

We bid farewell to Antarctica before boarding a flight that will take us to Punta Arenas in southern Chile. The programme ends on arrival at the airport in Punta Arenas.

We can offer a complimentary night at a comfortable hotel in town upon request. (Transfer to the city is only available for clients staying the night in Punta Arenas).
