Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Puerto Natales. Hike. Estancia
Arrive into Puerto Natales in the far south of Chile. Meet the team and guide in the BlueGreen Adventures office to receive briefing for the days ahead. Excess luggage can be stored in our office. After some tea and snacks we will meet our driver for the private transfer north past the waters of Last Hope Sound.

Driving approximately 50 km we will arrive onto the land belonging to the beautiful Estancia Perales, a remote
waterside estancia that farms cattle and sheep beside the abundant and mythical waters of Last Hope Sound.

Dominated by the high peaks of the Chacabuco mountain range, some of which are permanently covered in snow and ice and with views of Cerro Prat to the rear, this is a very special place and a real contrast to some of the scenery inside the Park.

Plenty of time to explore the waterfront where it is possible to fish for trout and sea bass or just enjoy the panoramic views across the fjords before dinner. Afternoon hike.

Dinner included (excluding wine/drinks). Night Estancia Perales in basic but comfortable rooms with private facilities. Lunch and dinner included (excluding wine/drinks).

Day 2: Navigate to glacier. Kayak/Zodiac. Night yacht
After breakfast, we will walk down to the estancia's own boat dock to meet our experienced boat captain who will welcome us on board our yacht which will be our base for the coming days and night.

Depending on the size of the group we will use one of two boats, either the Arco Iris at 17 metres with berths for 10 clients or the Driftwood at 12 metres with berths for just 4 clients. After a safety briefing and introduction to the yacht and our cabins we will set off into the fjords of the Ultima Esperanza region of Chile to the Bernardo O'Higgins National Park and the Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers.

Shared by the region of Magallanes and Aysen, this is the largest National Park in Chile and one of the five most expansive in the world (over 3 million hectares). With access only via the water or across the mountains or the southern ice field itself, it remains a remote and pristine corner of our planet. It also contains the third largest mass of ice on earth after Antarctica and Greenland.

Arrive at Puerto Toro at around lunchtime. Lunch on board or depending on the weather we can walk to the Serrano Glacier to have a picnic there.

After lunch we will be exploring the lagoons and waterways either by paddling out in the on-board kayaks or by taking zodiacs out with our experienced boat captain. The decision will be made according to the weather and conditions on the water.

After our afternoon exploring we will return to the yacht for dinner and a night in the small cabins on board the boat. All meals included with limited wine at dinner.

Navigate by yacht
Day 3: Morning Kayak/Zodiac. Navigate to Puerto Natales.
After our breakfast on board the yacht we will once again spend the morning exploring the local waterways and lagoon according to the weather and water conditions and the group's preference.

Weather permitting we will be able to take our kayaks into the meltwater lagoon below the Serrano Glacier, a once in a lifetime experience made all the more magical in the morning light.

After lunch on board we will navigate back across Last Hope Sound to the quayside in Puerto Natales arriving before nightfall.

On arrival at the dock, we will meet our driver for the short drive back to the BlueGreen office where we can collect our luggage and continue with our onward travel.

We can arrange extra accommodation here on request.

Alternatively, for clients wanting to extend their trip with some time in Torres del Paine we can arrange for you to continue with the two or three day Snow Shoes Hiking trip. Contact us for details.
